Some people seem to have too much time or (to say it positively) a great passion. What else should explain people like Terry Hatchet who is making videos where he chops things with a huge axe in slow motion. He already choped things like a TV, handy or balloon and made it into a commercial for Cornetto.

According to the poll on his page the next item to chop will be a Wii. We'll see...

It's amazing that some people always tend to write technical terms the wrong way. Although dealing with them all day they write words like 'VMWare' and 'Typo3'. Always nice to see something like this in job advertisements. So why don't people write 'MicroSoft' or something similar.

Probably I just take this too seriously ;-). Nevertheless here is the right spelling: 'VMware' and 'TYPO3'.

UPDATE: Some people even write the title of books the wrong way: Amazon sells the book 'VMWare VI3 for Dummies'. I think this has to be taken literally ;-).

As an experiment I'm trying to write most of the articles in English too. In my opinion this will surely help to improve my skills. To switch between the different languages you can use the flags in the upper right.

I don't know exactly how long I can handle this and there will not be translations for all articles for sure, but I'll try my very best.

Scrapbook

Nowadays you mostly do not have the requirement to archive a website. But if you have to there is a much better way than using the 'Save as'-Dialog: the extension Scrapbook for Firefox. When you archive a website with this extension it is stored in your Firefox profile. You can manage the websites like your bookmarks and even use them for a full text search. Before you save them to your hard disk you can also edit the websites: drop elements of the page, highlight parts of it and add notes (as showed in this screencast).

Especially if you don't have a broadband internet connection it can be useful to read some websites offline.

Wisdom of Dr. Cox from Scrubs::

I'm fairly sure if they took porn off the internet there'll only be one website left and and it'll be called: 'Bring back the porn!'.

I think there is some truth in it ;-).
